Reve De Sivola, a legend of the National Hunt game, has sadly died after collapsing at Kelso, being pulled up following the Edinburgh Gin Handicap Hurdle at the track.
Trained by Nick Williams and owned by the Paul Duffy Diamond Partnership, the 12-year-old had – in his usual way – led the field throughout the contest but was pulled up after the second-last hurdle.
A three-times winner of the Grade One Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot, a race he became synonymous with, Williams’ charge also won the Challow Hurdle and graded events in Ireland and France, earning over £600,000 in prize money throughout his stellar career.

The son of Assessor last tasted victory in a Grade Two event at Haydock in February of last year but has run with credit in defeat this season.
Famous for his front-running style and electric jumping over hurdles, the gelding never took to fences but loved the hustle and bustle of a three-mile event over timber.
A six-time Grade One winner, Reve De Sivola was found to have suffered an internal bleed. Gone but never forgotten, the site of Reve De Sivola attacking his hurdles will live long in the memory.
