Meydan win treble for Dubai World Cup night

Dubai World Cup night takes place on Saturday at Meydan and here is a win treble for the top-class racing. Here are the selections:

11:45: Meydan – North America 2/1.

Unbeaten in four starts for Satish Seemar since joining the trainer from Charlie Appleby and has taken a real liking to a mile round Meydan. This is another step up in class but the son of Dubawi could prove too good for these under Richard Mullen if getting a decent lead in the Godolphin mile, the first race on Dubai World Cup night.

2:00: Meydan – Ertijaal 6/4.

A real top-class sprinter, the six-year-old son of Oasis Dream has displayed a potent turn of foot at this track with a number of victories, which included two successes from two starts at the track this term over five furlongs. Stepping up to six-furlong for the Al Quoz Sprint, a race he finished second in last year, I think he can be as effective over this longer distance and should take plenty of beating.

4:45: Meydan – Arrogate 4/11.

Bob Baffert’s imposing four-year-old colt has improved with every run and has been very impressive in his last two starts. The son of Unbridled Joy won the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita in November, defeating California Chrome by half-a-length before routeing the field by four and three-quarter lengths in the world’s richest race, the Grade One Pegasus World Cup at Gulfstream Park in January and should take a lot of beating here.

Selections

11:45: Meydan – North America 2/1.

2:00: Meydan – Ertijaal 6/4.

4:45: Meydan – Arrogate 4/11.
