# Plage De Havre Wins Chester Stand Cup Result at 3/1

According to the official result at Chester on Saturday, **Plage De Havre** claimed a shock victory in the Chester Stand Cup result. The Andrew Balding-trained colt, ridden by Callum Hutchinson, won at 3/1 to upset the odds-on favourite Dubai Honour.

Plage De Havre triumphed by three-quarters of a length from Grey Cuban (16/1), with Dubai Honour (4/7F) unable to find a decisive blow in third. The winning time of 2m 39.05s over 1m4½f on Good To Soft ground reflects the competitive nature of this Chester Stand Cup result, in which the market got it decisively wrong.

## Plage De Havre Stuns Haggas Favourite

Held in third early, Plage De Havre responded to pressure when asked for effort over two furlongs out. Hutchinson found space and moved the four-year-old into second a furlong from home, then drove to the front inside the final furlong as the front two picked up the pace. Dubai Honour, which dominated [our morning preview](https://readhorseracing.com/2026/09/12/chester-stand-cup-preview-dubai-honour-analysis/), travelled well but drifted left under Cieren Fallon and could not get to the front.

William Haggas’s favourite was rated 117, a mark suggesting it should have won the Chester Stand Cup result with something in hand. Yet Plage De Havre, rated 106, struck when the pace and ground played to his advantage. The result confirms that at Listed level, the pace and conditions can outweigh the ratings on the day.
