# Lady Hornblower Claims Constant Security Handicap Result at Redcar

Lady Hornblower claimed victory in the Constant Security Handicap result at Redcar on Wednesday. Trained by Jedd O’Keeffe and ridden by Jason Hart, the 12/1 mare won by 1.25 lengths from **Sweet Kiss**.

The favourite **Sweet Kiss**, returned at 11/8, could not sustain the bid inside the final furlong. Hart settled the winner in third early before asking for effort with two furlongs remaining, moving **Lady Hornblower** right to close on the front pair and ultimately hitting the front near the line in the Constant Security Handicap result.

## Lady Hornblower Edges Home in Redcar Division

**Cosmic Man**, trained by Kevin Ryan and ridden by Kevin Stott, set the pace from the start but was overhauled late, finishing third beaten 1.75 lengths overall. **Idyllic**, **Al Fujairah**, and **Golden Caviar** completed the placings in the Constant Security Handicap result.

Earlier in the afternoon, **Per Contra**, the subject of [our morning preview](https://readhorseracing.com/2026/09/09/redcar-wednesday-preview-per-contra-handicap-stakes/), justified odds of 100/30 in the 2:51 handicap. David Allan’s mount was ridden prominently before being asked for effort three furlongs out, ultimately pulling away to win going away.
