# Curracloe Lands 22/1 Upset In Gowran Park Fillies Maiden Result

**Curracloe** delivered a 22/1 upset in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Gowran Park on Tuesday, with Ben Coen piloting the American-bred to victory for trainer J P Murtagh. The Gowran Park fillies maiden result vindicated the generous starting price in a closely contested field that had attracted strong market support elsewhere.

Curracloe pulled clear over the final furlong to defeat **Snowing** by 3.25 lengths, with the market favourite **Zenith Blaze** unable to sustain her challenge and finishing third, 4.5 lengths further back. The victory represented a substantial upset given the 1/1 odds attached to Zenith Blaze, who dominated the market in the Gowran Park fillies maiden result.

## Coen Pilots Curracloe Clear In Strong Maiden Contest

Curracloe’s winning margin proved decisive in a maiden that promised genuine competition from several angles. [Zenith Blaze had been the focus of Tuesday’s race preview](https://readhorseracing.com/2026/09/01/gowran-park-fillies-maiden-zenith-blaze/), but the 1/1 favourite could not find the necessary acceleration through the closing stages. Her effort weakened to allow Coen’s charge through decisively.

**Alpine Wedding**, sent off at 6/1, completed the placings in fourth, 5 lengths adrift of Snowing, while **Ocean Surge** and **Ita Florence** pursued the winner through the closing furlong. The Gowran Park fillies maiden result confirmed the strength of the form on show, with three winners among the first four home in a race contested at a genuine tempo throughout.
