According to the official result at Sandown, Love Dynasty claimed the Sandown Atalanta Stakes result at 33/1 under Neil Callan for trainer Kevin Ryan on Saturday. The victory proved one of the standout shocks of a card that delivered its share of lengthy prices in the featured Group 3.
The winning margin was just 0.3 lengths over Noche Clasica, who raced at 14/1 and showed genuine pace in the final furlong. Moon Target, the 111-rated highest-rated runner in the field, could not find the decisive move and took third, a further 0.3 lengths adrift after pressing hard from the middle of the pack.
Love Dynasty Lands 33/1 Shock in Sandown Atalanta Stakes Result
Calendar Girl, the subject of our morning preview of the Sandown card, disappointed at 100/30 in sixth place. Ridden by Callum Rodriguez for trainer Owen Burrows, the 105-rated runner was unable to sustain her effort after pressing for room two furlongs out, beaten one length as the pace proved beyond her.
The decisive moment came two furlongs from home, when Love Dynasty responded to Neil Callan’s urgings and moved right to find clearer air. Travelled midfield early on, the 96-rated winner showed no early indication of the finish that would decide matters. Pressed hard by the quick-finishing Noche Clasica in the closing stages, Love Dynasty held firm to edge clear close home.
Secret Of Life finished fourth at 0.5 lengths, So Regal fifth, and Pacific Mission sixth. The Sandown Atalanta Stakes result marked a strong display of tactical riding from Callan, who seized his opportunity when it mattered most.
