# Redcar Classified Stakes Result: Doralee Beats the Favourite

Doralee won the 4:19 Market Cross Jewellers Classified Stakes at Redcar at 3/1, beating well-backed 7/4 favourite Ellie’s De Vega by a length under David Nolan. If you followed our preview’s value line rather than its verdict, you collected.

| Pos | Horse | Jockey | SP |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1st | Doralee | David Nolan | 3/1 |
| 2nd | Ellie’s De Vega | Cieren Fallon | 7/4F |
| 3rd | Pinpoint | Tom Kiely-Marshall | 4/1 |

## The Race Story

Over Redcar’s lightning-fast five furlongs on good to firm, the David & Nicola Barron-trained Doralee did what she does in this grade — ran her race. She held Ellie’s De Vega, backed from 3/1 into 7/4 on stable debut for Philip Kirby with Cieren Fallon up, by a length at the line, with Pinpoint a 4/1 third.

The favourite’s supporters can point to a solid effort at level weights, but Doralee, a 9/2 chance in the morning, was simply too streetwise. Brave Bob was a non-runner.

## Tipster Accountability

Our [Redcar preview](https://readhorseracing.com/2026/08/08/redcar-races-today-tips/) made Ellie’s De Vega the verdict — she ran well and still cost you money in second. But mark the value line: “Doralee is rarely out of the frame in this grade.” She went one better than the frame and won at 3/1. Call it a split decision. None of the tracked tipsters in [today’s review](https://readhorseracing.com/2026/08/08/tipster-review-templegate-kealy-oddschecker-day-one/) had bets at Redcar.

## Looking Ahead

The Redcar finale at 5:31 is the one the punters are waiting for: French Affair, a 13/8 morning-line favourite for Jennie Candlish, bids to complete a double for the yard after [Rosenpur’s 12/1 photo-finish win in the 3:47](https://readhorseracing.com/2026/08/08/redcar-347-result-rosenpur/) — and he was flagged among the preview’s best bets after winning at Goodwood.
