## Woodbine Cancels July 3 Racing As Infrastructure Repairs Continue

**Woodbine Entertainment has cancelled live racing at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto on Friday, July 3, because underground infrastructure repairs are still ongoing.**

The decision extends the disruption first triggered by a sewer line issue near the all-weather main track, leaving the Canadian venue without its Thursday and Friday Thoroughbred cards at the start of a busy July weekend.

Woodbine said contractors remain on site working to resolve the problem. With two cards now lost, the track has reshaped Sunday, July 5 into a 12-race programme, including all seven races that had already been drawn for Thursday.

## Sunday Card Rebuilt After Friday Cancellation

The update matters for horsemen, punters and broadcasters because Woodbine is a key summer circuit in North America, and this is no longer a single-card interruption.

The track is also holding discussions with the HBPA and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario over a possible rescheduled race date on Monday, July 6.

The latest [Woodbine racing cancellation update](https://woodbine.com/woodbine-news/woodbine-cancels-live-racing-for-friday/) leaves Saturday racing untouched for now, but puts attention firmly on repair progress before the rebuilt Sunday card.

It also gives connections a clearer planning point after a stop-start week: Thursday’s abandoned races have been preserved in Sunday’s draw, while any Monday replacement fixture still needs regulatory and horsemen approval.
