Epsom Oaks Runners Guide 2026
See the 12 Oaks runners below with race profiles, odds and recent form.
1. A La Prochaine 🇬🇧
- Age: 3
- Trainer: Ralph Beckett
- Jockey: James Doyle
- Owner: Wathnan Racing
- Sire: Lope De Vega
- Form: 1-3
- Odds: 8/1
Owned by Wathnan Racing, more improvement isn’t ruled out.
Made the perfect start to her career when winning at Newbury as a two-year-old, backed up that promise with a solid third at Chester on reappearance.
However, she was beaten by Oaks favourite Amelia Earhart that day and its hard to see her reversing that form. Probably one for a race of lower quality.
2. Amelia Earhart 🇮🇪
- Age: 3
- Trainer: Aidan O’Brien
- Jockey: Ryan Moore
- Owner: Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith
- Sire: Camelot
- Form 2241-1
- Odds: 15/8
Amelia Earhart has been the Oaks talking horse ever since landing the Cheshire Oaks at Chester in May.
Plenty to like about that performance last time and she’ll be looking for a hat-trick of wins.
It took her five races to get off the mark but she looks to have improved drastically for stepping up in trip and she’s a strong contender.
Entered in all of the top mile-and-a-half+ races including the Irish Oaks and Irish St Leger. The one they all have to beat with her proven stamina.

3. Cameo 🇮🇪
- Age: 3
- Trainer: Aidan O’Brien
- Jockey: Wayne Lordan
- Owner: Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith & Mrs John Magnier & Westerberg
- Sire: Wootton Bassett
- Form: 314-51
- Odds: 8/1
Looked like she needed the run when 5th of 10 on her first start of the season at the Curragh in the Park Express Stakes.
Was a good winner of the Oaks Trial at Lingfield when seen last and that performance puts her in contention.
The form of that race is questionable but there was a lot to like and she proved that she can stay.
Shouldn’t have any issues getting the extra half-a-furlong here and has each-way claims.
4. K Sarra 🇬🇧
- Age: 3
- Trainer: Ralph Beckett
- Jockey: Rossa Ryan
- Owner: Mrs David Aykroyd
- Sire: New Bay
- Form 1-03
- Odds: 14/1
Only win remains her debut at Southwell last season but that was an easy success.
Progress was paused when only managing 11th of 18 in the Fred Darling at Newbury but she got back on track with a solid third in the Musidora at York.
She was an eye catcher that day and she shaped as if another step up in trip was worth exploring and she wouldn’t be completely out of it.
5. Legacy Link 🇬🇧
- Age: 3
- Trainer : John & Thady Gosden
- Jockey: Colin Keane
- Owner: Juddmonte
- Sire: Dubawi
- Form: 314-1
- Odds: 3/1
It’s possible that she wasn’t at peak fitness when landing the Musidora at York last month and she should come on massively for that run.
She battled back gamely when challenged by Felicitas and she looks like the strongest home challenger.
Ran a nice race in the Fillies Mile at the end of last season but does need to reverse that form with a couple of those rivals who re-oppose here.
Her trainer John Gosden has a decent record in the race winning it four times. Last time was in 2023 with Soul Sister.

6. On Message 🇬🇧
- Age: 3
- Trainer: Ralph Beckett
- Jockey: Hector Crouch
- Owner: The Eclipse Partnership
- Sire: Camelot
- Form: 451-13
- Odds: 33/1
Form is nowhere near enough to win this race, won a Class 4 handicap at the track to start her season.
However, she failed to build on that when third in a Listed contest at Goodwood last month. Only beaten a length but did look like she might want further.
One of two for trainer Ralph Beckett.
7. Sugar Island 🇮🇪
- Age: 3
- Trainer: Aidan O’Brien
- Jockey: Ronan Whelan
- Owner: Westerberg, Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor & Derrick Smith
- Sire: Dubawi
- Form: 5391-4
- Odds: 33/1
Another big outsider of O’Brien, likely in here to dictate the pace.
She has a mixed bag of form, but did win a Group 3 at the Curragh at the back end of last season.
Well beaten by Amelia Earhart at Chester on seasonal reappearance.
8. Thundering On 🇮🇪
- Age: 3
- Trainer: Joseph O’Brien
- Jockey: Dylan Browne McMonagale
- Owner: Shapoor Mistry
- Sire: Frankel
- Form: 42-21
- Odds: 6/1
Lively contender for Joseph O’Brien who was an excellent winner of a 10 furlong Group 3 when last seen.
Stepped up in trip with ease and can run well here. That was her first career win but she’d come second the two starts before that after only managing 4th on debut.
One to consider and could make the first three if the race goes to plan.
She’s a prominent racer so gives her every chance if seeing out the trip, which she should do.
9. Venetian Lace 🇬🇧
- Age: 3
- Trainer: Charlie Johnston
- Jockey: William Buick
- Owner: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum
- Sire: Masar
- Form: 4262-3
- Odds: 12/1
Still only won one race in her career and that was a maiden but that doesn’t tell the full story about the quality of filly that she is.
Her last two starts were placed Group 1 efforts when overlooked in the market. Bookies haven’t taken a chance and she would not be a surprise winner.
Finished second in last year’s Fillies Mile and then came third in the 1000 Guineas.
Has to reverse Fillies Mile form with Precise but that form is strong.
Yet to race over further than a mile but trainer seems confident.
That completed our Epsom Oaks runners guide.
