## **Andy Newton’s Lay Of The Day Horse Racing Tip: MONDAY 25th May 2026**

### **2:57 Redcar: PERFIDIA**

Won at Hamilton 10 days ago but only just scrapped home that day by a short-head.

Is up 2lbs for that, which doesn’t look a lot, but that takes him back to a mark of 58 and will need a career-best again off this rating.

That also came over the extended mile and is dropped back to 7f today and both his career wins (from 24) have been over 1m+.

*Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).*

**13:30 Huntingdon – Palma Springs**

*“Palma Springs ran with promise on her sole bumper, forced 5-wide in a slowly-run contest, and her finishing position didn’t flatter her. She was 4th on her hurdling debut, but didn’t run through the line. Given a break, she has strengthened up and she has pleased us in her work. She runs in a first-time tongue-tie, which should help, and in a poor race, and with no weight on her back, she can run well. ”* **Jamie Snowden**
