It’s rare that a trainer of his calibre endures such a torrid time of things but the Charlie Appleby form ahead of huge races this week is a worry.
Charlie Appleby Form In Dire Need Of Improvement
We’re just 24 hours out from the Dante Stakes at York and with two horses declared for the race, Charlie Appleby is searching for a first win in 19 days.
In the last two weeks, Appleby has had 17 runners with ZERO wins and eight of those were favourites.
You’d have to go back to the 24th April since Appleby’s last winner when Opera Ballo won the bet365 Mile at Sandown.
The Godolphin trainer will be hopeful of a huge turn of luck over the next few days.

Big Few Days For Charlie Appleby Ahead With Form In Doubt
Appleby has three horses declared for York on Wednesday.
He’ll saddle King’s Trail and Al Zanati in the big race as the Dante Stakes trends suggest his horses could be within a chance – IF the yard form changes.
Appleby also has Diamond Rain in the Middleton Fillies’ Stakes.
It’ll also be a big day for the stable at Newbury on Saturday with two horses currently entered in the Lockinge Stakes – Notable Speech and Opera Ballo.
Wise Approach, one of Appleby’s recent beaten favourites goes in the Listed Carnarvon Stakes on Saturday too.
Godolphin Runners Have Been Winning At Other Stables
There’s clearly been issues in Appleby’s yard, as Saeed Bin Suroor has been doing well with his Godolphin runners.
He’s had two three-year-olds win. Fighter’s Spirit won at Windsor earlier this week and Mountain Cat won at Doncaster at the start of the month.
