## **Andy Newton’s Lay Of The Day Horse Racing Tip: Friday 24th April**

### **3:12 PERTH: HE KNOWS BETTER**

Won at Southwell two runs back but failed to follow-up at Newbury next time – as a beaten favourite off a 5lb higher mark.

Is back today off that same rating and also up to 3m, with that recent win coming over 2m4 1/2f.

Has won on good ground in the past so the better conditions will be fine and with only 13 runs could have more to come.

But I just feel at the prices, he’s worth taking on – based on the step up in trip and also still having a bit to prove off this higher mark for me.

*Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).*

#### **6:37 Chepstow – TORNEO**

*“It’s been a frustrating season for Torneo following a highly productive novice campaign. He was a good 2nd on his seasonal reappearance, beaten a neck at Cheltenham, then went close again, a head 2nd in a competitive handicap at Windsor. He has been creeping up the handicap as a result of that consistency and didn’t jump well enough last time out in a deep race. Back in calmer waters here, he should finish the season off in style. “* **JAMIE SNOWDEN**
