Check out our Perth tips on Friday for ITV Racing as the third and final day of their season opener gets underway. We’ve got 1-2-3 selections for the two races including one in the Highland National.

Six Races Shown Live On ITV Racing This Friday With Two From Perth

There will be two races live from Perth on the ITV Racing schedule this Friday with another four coming from Sandown.

It’s a big day of flat action at Sandown and where Andy Newton provides four tips for the action from the Esher track.

I’ll be in charge of the Perth action and I’ve got 1-2-3 selections in both races there.

The ITV Racing coverage on Friday kicks off with the Esher Cup Handicap at Sandown and ends with the Classic Trial.

Friday Perth Tips – 1-2-3 Selections On ITV Racing

With just two races live from Perth on ITV Racing this Friday, check out my 1-2-3 selections below.

2:05 Perth – Highland National Handicap Chase: STRATAGEM (each-way)

The Highland National is a tough race to break down but a horse that appeals to me is STRATAGEM for last year’s winning yard.

Mickey Bowen’s charge seems to have improved a bunch since having wind surgery and that showed when he bolted up by 20 lengths last time out.

He’s up in class here but the manner in which he won at Sedgefield last time (3m2f) out suggested that he should have no issues getting the extra yardage here.

After that 20 length win, the handicapper gave Stratagem a 6lb rise but Shane Fenlon claims 5lb so he’s effectively only 1lb higher here. Also worth noting that claimers have won this race five times in the last nine renewals.

The good ground should be fine for him and he should go very close.

Christian Williams’ horses usually thrive for a marathon trip and Fever Dream has solid claims of placing and can follow our selection home into second after winning easily at Warwick last time.

President Scottie will appreciate a return to quicker ground and can complete our 1-2-3 selections in the race with Nicky Richards’ horses still going well.

Highland National 1-2-3 Tips

  • 🥇 STRATAGEM
  • 🥈 FEVER DREAM
  • 🥉 PRESIDENT SCOTTIE

2:40 Perth – Perth Racecourse Racing & Events Handicap Hurdle: ROARING CONQUEST (each-way)

ROARING CONQUEST has encountered pretty bad ground on his last three starts and never threatened. He should be more at home on this quicker surface.

He was sent off 9/1 in a Grade 3 at Sandown two starts ago but was pulled up. This is easier and he might just be a better horse than his rivals.

His last win was back in November at Windsor but the form of that has been well-advised and he’s sure to go well.

Carries top-weight here but the conditions are in his favour and I’d say he’s still unexposed as a stayer. I’m hoping it can be a good day for Sean Bowen – who eyes a famous success at Sandown on Saturday.

Wa Wa won this race last year but hasn’t won since and has been well beaten on all of his starts this season. Had a short break since January and it’s likely that this has been his target. Back on the same mark and is dangerous.

Coumeenoole was subject to a famous big gamble when winning at Bangor last time out but it remains to be seen whether lightening will strike twice for Dan Skelton’s inmate. Should run his race though and can place.

  • 🥇 ROARING CONQUEST
  • 🥈 WA WA
  • 🥉 COUMEENOOLE
