Aintree Lucky 15 Tips On Ladies Day – Four Selections For ITV Racing
Friday sees another tricky looking card but nevertheless it should be a cracker and so check out our Ladies Day Lucky 15 tips.
We’ve selected four horses from the six races live on ITV Racing and we’ll be playing a WIN Lucky 15.
1:45 Aintree – William Hill Handicap Hurdle (Class 1, 2m4f) – JOYUESE
JOYEUSE looked much more like herself when finishing third in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham last time and was full of running when hitting the line strongly.
The first-time cheekpieces she wore that day aided her and to me she looks the class act in this field.
She wasn’t beaten far and a 2lb rise for that solid third against two well-handicapped rivals doesn’t look excessive. She finished her race well and I think this step back up in trip should suit her.
Her trainer Nicky Henderson has won this race three times before and had horses place four times in the last five years.
With all considered, I’m taking classy mare Joyeuse to get Ladies Day off to a strong start.
2:20 Aintree – Mildmay Novices’ Chase (Grade 1, 3m1f) – REGENT’S STROLL
REGENT’S STROLL ran a big race in the Jack Richards at Cheltenham last month and this first go over 3m1f is certainly worth exploring.
He’s not been out of the first three in steady races over two-and-a-half miles in the last 12 months and he was runner-up in a Grade 1 on this card last year.
Also, the form of that Jack Richards third has been franked after Slade Steel came out and won a Grade 1 when reverting back to hurdles at Fairyhouse’s Easter Festival.
Salver has had a long season over three miles and would probably want the ground softer. Wendigo took a nasty fall in the Brown Advisory so by process of elimination I think Regent’s Stroll is the one to be with here. Totally unexposed as a stayer and worthy of a bet.
4:05 Aintree – Topham Handicap Chase (Class 1, 2m5f) MADARA
MADARA landed a huge plot when bolting up in the Plate at Cheltenham and a 10lb rise from the handicapper might not stop him just yet.
It’ll be the first time that Madara tackles the National fences but he’s a solid jumper and he may still be ahead of the handicapper given the manner in which he won at Cheltenham.
Connections will be eyeing a famous double when stablemate Panic Attack (same owner) bids to become a Grand National-winning mare in the main event on Saturday.
30 runners go to post here and it’s undoubtedly a very hard race to win but Madara should be better than most of his older rivals and should take the beating.
4:40 Aintree – Sefton Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1, 3m 1/2f) – TALK TO THE MAN
It’s very interesting that Harry Cobden has chosen TALK TO THE MAN over Challow Hurdle winner No Drama This End here and I think it could pay to take note of.
Talk To The Man has won very easily on both starts over hurdles so far (2m3f, 2m4 1/2f) and he looks like a top staying chaser in the making.
There’s no doubts about whether he’ll get the trip here given he’s a three mile point winner. And the way he was eased down to win so well on both of those hurdles starts suggests he had plenty left in the tank.
I would say it’s quite telling that Cobden chooses this horse over No Drama This End who was labelled as “the next Denman” by trainer Paul Nicholls.
Aintree Ladies Day Lucky 15 Tips On Second Day Of Grand National Meeting
- 1:45 – Joyeuse @ 6/1
- 2:20 – Regent’s Stroll @ 4/1
- 4:05 – Madara @ 7/2
- 4:40 – Talk To The Man @ 7/1
Placing a £1 win Lucky 15 (total £15) on our selections would return just over £2,300
