Good Friday All-Weather Finals Lucky 15 Tips – Selections From Newcastle & Lingfield

This Good Friday brings ultra-competitive action on All-Weather Finals day so I’ll be playing a Lucky 15 with two selections from Newcastle and two from Lingfield.

Also check out Andy Newton’s ITV Racing Tips for all 11 races.

1:50 Newcastle – All-Weather 3 Year Old Championships Handicap (Class 2, 6f) – SILENT STRIKE

Andrew Balding’s horses are in good nick and he and Oisin Murphy have won the last two renewals of this race. In particular, last year they won it with Berkshire Whisper who is of a similar profile to SILENT STRIKE, so that’s who I’m siding with.

Whilst he has been a beaten favourite on two of his three starts so far, this handicap debut should bring out plenty of improvemenmt as it often does with this stable’s runners.

He only lost out by half-a-length over course and distance last time out so this Mehmas colt can repay the punters with that track experience and take this valuable prize.

2:05 Lingfield – All-Weather Vase Marathon Handicap (Class 4, 2m) – SELENIC

In a wide open contest, I’m taking a chance on SELENIC who may just improve a few lbs for a big step up in trip.

I’m hoping this can be a typical Sir Mark Prescott plot. This filly didn’t run badly last time and hung when under pressure with a furlong to go.

She wears first-time cheekpieces and that can sharpern her up and hopefully prevent her drifting off a true line as seen on her last two starts.

2:40 Lingfield – All-Weather Vase Sprint Handicap (Class 3, 6f) – CARBINE HARVESTER

CARBINE HARVESTER acts well around Lingfield and hasn’t finished out of the first two in both starts over course and distance. He won here last January and came second the next time when stepping up in class.

Whilst he’s ran two bad races so far this year, he should find things easier at a track he clearly enjoys. Drops down in class again and Jack Callan takes off a handy 5lbs.

Should go very close if he’s on a going day and is more convincing than plenty of his rivals.

4:10 Newcastle – All-Weather Easter Classic Middle Distance Handicap (Class 2, 1m2f) – GAUCHER

Billy Loughnane partners the Willie Mullins-trained GAUCHER for the Easter Classic and with the winner taking home over £90k, you can see why the trip is being made.

Gaucher was a Grade 3 winner over hurdles last year and has since moved back to the flat and picked up back-to-back wins at Dundalk.

He was also fairly decent on the flat in France and may just have a slight class edge over his rivals. Rated 150 over hurdles, it looks like he has plenty in hand here off 106. Carrying topweight but can get the job done as Mullins searches for his first all-weather winner in the UK.

That completes are All-Weather Finals Lucky 15 tips with four selections.

All-Weather Finals Lucky 15 Tips With Prices

  • 1:50 – SILENT STRIKE
  • 2:05 – SELENIC 7/1
  • 2:40 – CARBINE HARVESTER 7/1

Placing a £1 Lucky 15 (£15 total) at the prices advised would return just short of £2500 (£2,449.25).
