Saint Are’s trainer, Tom George, has confirmed that his 12-year-old will now enjoy a well-earned retirement.
The Grand National regular ran into some trouble on Saturday afternoon and took a crashing fall when attempting to jump the The Chair.
However, to George’s sheer joy, Saint Are returned home the following morning in great spirits after receiving some overnight veterinary aid from the excellent team at Aintree.
When speaking to At The Races, George said:
The team here at Down Farm are delighted to report that Saint Are is back home safe and sound after being brought down in the National. He returned on Sunday morning from Aintree and was in his usual paddock that evening having a buck and a kick.

Not long after, George confirmed that the stable favourite will now endure a relaxing retirement after a luxurious racing career which includes five wins in 45 races, a group one winner back in 2011, also five consecutive National runs, with his best run coming back in 2015 when finishing a impressive second to Many Clouds.
Happy retirement, Saint Are!
