Jessica Harrington’s Supasundae looks set to take on the defending champion Buveur D’Air in the Betway Aintree hurdle next weekend.
Harrington’s eight-year-old was in good touch when last seen, finishing a very good second in the Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, just losing out to Willie Mullins’ Penhill, who was very impressive after an eleven month lay-off.

Connections have been pondering a number of options with regards to Supasundae.
A winner of the Irish Champion Hurdle at two miles, it also still seems that he can run a decent race over three miles.
It stands to reason then that something in between those distances will be ideal for maximising his chances.
Harrington said, via the Racing Post:
We’re favouring running him in the two-and-a-half miler, as he seems most affective these days.
If connections do decide to go down that road, that would set up a mouth-watering clash against Buveur D’Air, who has been blowing the racing world away with his breath-taking performances this season.
