Waiting Patiently will have to act according to his own name, after an injury will keep the horse out of the Aintree Festival this month.
Winning the Grade One Ascot Chase in February, many had tipped Waiting Patiently as one of the brightest stars in the racing world.
However, as trainer Ruth Jefferson confirmed, the next step of his career will have to wait until next season.

Jefferson said:
We’ve met with a bit of a setback, so Waiting Patiently will not be running again this season.
It’s a shame, as the ground looks like it would have been perfect for him at Aintree, but that’s life. He’s won a Grade 1 this season and done us proud.
As for the source of the injury, there seems to be an amount of confusion.
At this stage we’re not certain what the problem is but we’ve had to stop with the horse and he has been sent home so the owner’s own vet can have a look at him.
It isn’t career-threatening but we don’t know enough yet to be able to say anything about next season. We’ll go along with whatever the vet tells us.
A winner in his last seven races, racing fans will be eager to see the horse back on the course at the earliest opportunity.
