# Altior fit for Queen Mother Champion Chase

The imperious Altior has survived [a late fitness scare](https://readhorseracing.com/2018/03/12/champion-chase-favourite-altior-suffers-huge-fitness-scare/), and will run in the Queen Mother Champion Chase on Wednesday, [his trainer Nicky Henderson has confirmed.](https://www.sportinglife.com/racing/news/altior-fit-for-cheltenham/144467)

The heavy favourite for the Grade One had been reported as being lame on Monday regarding pus in his foot, but Henderson announced via Twitter that the eight-year-old would take to the course at the Cheltenham Festival.

Overnight treatment seems to have done the trick for Altior, unbeaten in his career over jumps.

At the same time however, Henderson announced that another gelding from his stable – My Tent or Yours – would be withheld from the Champion Hurdle on day one of the Festival, upon receiving advice from veterinary professionals.

The horse had been fancied as a shot to beat last year’s winner, Buveur D’Air.
