# Trainer Kirby excited ahead of Lady Buttons’ trip to Dublin

Trainer Phil Kirby [has expressed his excitement](https://www.sportinglife.com/racing/news/kirby-excited-over-buttons-raid/142289) ahead of Lady Buttons’ appearance in Dublin this weekend.

The eight-year-old is set to go in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Paddy Mullins Mares Handicap Hurdle, with £75,000 of prize money available.

With good form in Ireland already this season, Kirby is seeing plenty of reason to bang the drum ahead of this week’s meeting.

> I’m looking forward to it, I think she’s fairly handicapped and must be going there with a decent chance There wasn’t a lot wrong with her last run behind Let’s Dance, she’s been dropped 2lb for it and it’s a massive drop in class.

The mare finished fourth in the Willis Towers Watson Irish EBF Mares Hurdle in December, and Kirby clearly feels it’s a run that sets the horse up well for further success at Leopardstown.

Her last win came in November, at the Yorton Stallions Mares’ Novices’ Chase, in Bangor-on-Dee, ridden by Adam Nicol.
