# Defi Du Seuil’s next target remains undecided

Connections of Defi Du Seuil have yet to decide where Philip Hobbs’ charge will run next after a disappointing return to action in the G2 Coral Hurdle at Ascot in November.

The five-year-old son of Voix Du Nord took all before him in his juvenile campaign, notching up impressive victories in both the G1 JCB Triumph Hurdle as well as the 4-Y-O Hurdle at Aintree’s Randox Health Grand National Meeting, which took his record over rules to seven victories in as many starts in Britain.

However, despite being the well-supported 10/11 favourite for the two-mile event at the Berkshire venue in November, the French-bred gelding struggled with the transition to open company, making a litany of mistakes and struggling to quicken when push came to shove under Barry Geraghty. Neil King’s Lil Rockerfeller won the event.

Not seen since, Hobbs and J P McManus have yet to decide where to send the gelding next with McManus’ Racing Manager Frank Berry [revealing](https://www.racinguk.com/news/defi-du-seuil-in-good-form-but-plans-fluid):

> He’s in good form. No plans at the minute. He’s had a nice break. We’ll see how he is at the end of the month or early February.
