There is some decent action in Britain today and here are four selections for hopefully add to the Cheltenham coffers.
Selection 1: Fabulous Flyer – 2:00, Lingfield
Jeremy Gask is placing his horses superbly at the moment this lad should go well. A winner over course and distance in January, he should be able to cope with a 5lb rise, particularly with excellent claimer David Parkes on top.
Selection 2: Volatile – 4:20, Lingfield
Hot favourite Second Thought is a significant danger but James Tate’s colt improved from a very decent sixth in a hot Newmarket maiden to score with authority at Chelmsford in November. Given time off by Tate, the three-year-old son of Cape Cross should give the favourite plenty to think about in what looks a decent Listed event.
Selection 3: Mount Mews – 3:25, Kelso
Capitane and Chalonnial are decent yardsticks but I fancy Mount Mew to improve past both of them in this Grade Two contest. He should be unbeaten over hurdles having thrown away victory in a novice hurdle at Wetherby. However, he made amends for that mishap with an authoritative success at Doncaster last time. He should handle the step up in trip and grade and looks well placed run well.
Selection 4: Bol D’Air – 3:50, Newbury
This is a weak race and Chris Gordon’s charge who won well at Plumpton last time has Richard Johnson on board today and he should be able to follow up in the a race of this nature.
