Sunday’s racing sees three National Hunt meetings take place at Fontwell, Southwell and Naas. Here is a banker treble for the racing.
Selection 1: Kolumbus 2:20: Naas
Like Christopher Columbus, he is still trying to discover more of the world and himself but Willie Mullins’ charge is coming on leaps and bounds judged on his two seconds at Leopardstown and Punchestown in his last two starts. This is a weak race and Kolumbus should have the scope to go on and win this race.
Selection 2: Any Second Now 3:50: Naas
An impressive dual winner at the track. Ted Walsh’s Any Second Now was an excellent winner of the Grade Two Sky Bet Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle where he upset 4/11 favourite Crack Mome in the closing stages to win by a length and a quarter. This is no stronger a Grade Two contest and while Joey Sasa and Peace News are decent yardsticks, Walsh’s charge has looked a cut above in two races so far and can continue his upward progression in this race.
Selection 3: Monbeg Worldwide 5:20: Naas
Very impressive in two starts under rules, Gordon Elliott knows how to win these races and he should prove very hard to bear. Justifying odds of 1/2 and 1/4 at Roscommon and Cork respectively, the five-year-old son of Lucarno has won his races with authority so far this term and should comfortably win this event.
