Banker win double for Saturday’s racing

There is some decent fare in the racing world on Saturday with Kempton’s jumps card and Lingfield’s all-weather meeting taking centre-stage. Here is a banker win double for tomorrow to help you fill the Cheltenham coffers:

Selection 1: Charli Parcs – 1:50: Kempton

An impressive winner at Kempton on his British debut after arriving from France, the Adonis looks a perfect race for the four-year-old before a tilt at either the Supreme or Triumph at Cheltenham next month. His trainer Nicky Henderson is a big admirer of this lad and his eight-length win at this track was decisive. He traveled and jumped well that day and should be too good for this field. Evening Hush second to Defi Du Seuil last time should give him most to think about but this is a very winnable contest for Henderson’s inmate.

Selection 2: Champ – 4:45: Kempton

Appropriately named after 20-times Champion Jump jockey AP McCoy, Nicky Henderson’s charge made a distinctive impression when easily winning his first start at Southwell last month. The five-year-old son of King’s Theatre cruised into the lead and won comfortably by three and a half-lengths under Barry Geraghty. He looks a horse to keep an eye on for the future and should take this bumper contest on the way to better things. Some unexposed horses lie in wait for this contest but he should prove too good.
